A WOLVERINE IN THE BOAT
When my brother and I were kids, we pulled a struggling animal into our fishing boat—only to discover we had just put a wolverine in with us. We learned a simple lesson: good intentions don’t mean you should ignore the danger in front of you.
That lesson applies to our country.
Veterans took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. We have seen what happens when nations lose sight of the principles that hold them together.
Today, the responsibility is ours again.
Don’t look away. Know the candidates. Know what they stand for. Protect the Constitution. And use the power we earned through our service: our vote. Veterans have defended this country before. We must remain engaged in defending the principles that made it worth defending.
