I loved participating in the Young Invincibles Forum this afternoon! Everyone deserves a quality education, no matter your background, but Bruce Rauner’s budget cuts have made that more difficult than ever. In Springfield, JB and I will be committed to investing in education and supporting students by making college and early learning opportunities more accessible. When we invest in our students, we invest in the future of Illinois.

I'm posting this so everyone will know that there are organizations that will help us in our quest.

The National Animal Legal Defense is a
120,000 member organization that rarely endorses candidates of any office but in this case supports me as the Comptroller for Model Illinois Government because of my consistent stance of opposing animal cruelty and my work to defend the rights of responsible pet owners. The National Animal Legal Defense Fund was formed to assist in:

- Filing groundbreaking lawsuits to stop animal abuse and expand the boundaries of animal law.
- Providing free legal assistance to prosecutors handling cruelty cases.
- Working to strengthen state anti-cruelty statutes.
- Encouraging the federal government to enforce existing animal protection laws.
- Nurturing the future of animal law through Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapters and our Animal Law Program.
- Providing public education through seminars, workshops and other outreach efforts.

I intend to carry on my advocacy of stopping animal abuse by aggressively supporting law enforcements efforts to shut down organized animal fighting rings and expanding the immunization and microchip services for pet owners. I also will focus on outlawing illegal puppy mills and animal abuse throughout Central Illinois and the entire State of Illinois, and I will also continue to advocate for free seminars and workshops to teach citizens about responsible pet ownership and how to identify and report cases of suspected animal abuse.

While my candidacy is foremost about the citizens of Macon and Sangamon and other surrounding counties, it is also about protecting the voiceless who provide protection and companionship to citizens and make our lives more complete.

Harsher Animal Abuse laws "MUST" be enforced to put an end to the unnecessary and senseless harm and death the voiceless face every day. We all have to due our part not only together buy individually because it's the humane thing to do.
