🚨 BREAKING | Oregon Wildfire Outbreak Explodes

Oregon is facing one of its most significant wildfire outbreaks of the 2026 fire season after thousands of lightning strikes ignited dozens of new fires across the state.

Explosive fire growth over the weekend has pushed several incidents into major wildfire complexes, including the Hay Creek Complex, now exceeding 92,000 acres, and the Rowe Creek Complex, which has grown beyond 36,000 acres. The rapid fire activity has driven the Northwest to Preparedness Level 5, the highest national level, as firefighting resources, aircraft, and crews are stretched across the region.

Hot temperatures, critically dry fuels, gusty winds, and the threat of additional lightning continue to create dangerous fire conditions. Firefighters remain engaged in aggressive suppression efforts while protecting threatened communities and critical infrastructure.

This is another reminder that wildfire season can change overnight. One lightning event, combined with receptive fuels and weather, can transform a quiet fire season into a full-scale regional response.

Please keep Oregon’s firefighters, emergency personnel, and the communities in the path of these fires in your thoughts.

“Complacency has no place on the fireline. Stay alert, stay engaged, and always go home safe.”
— Will Spyrison, Retired Division Chief & InciNotes Administrator
