Alpha Battery 1/118th Field Artillery Regiment conducts live fire exercises March 8-10 at Fort Stewart. Staff Sergeant Ricky Roop's section completes a high angle fire mission. Each Artillery sections will conduct multiple fire missions in order to maintain skills needed for combat operations.

During March Drill Live Fire Exercises Colonel Thomas Carden prepares to fire the M119A2 Howitzer with as Staff Sergeant Ricky Roop, Private First Class Joseph Hanton, and Private First Class Abraham Talavera look on. It is a tradition with Alpha Battery to allow VIP visitors to fire rounds and "take the ride" on the gunner's seat.
