Mission:
"To be a thriving church that reaches and build people to be Christ-like." Historic Washington Avenue Baptist Church is a progressive church that focuses on God through dynamic worship, relevant preaching, relevant teaching, and effective ministry. Our worship services are a blend of traditional, charismatic, and contemporary styles. The ultimate aim is that our diverse,

intergenerational congregation, will have a profound encounter with God (in their own way) before they leave our public worship experiences.

A New Chapter: Celebrating the Morgan Family

During an emotional worship service, we said farewell to the Morgan family. For 15 years, Reginald and Felicia Morgan have poured out their hearts. They have served hard and have shown so much love to our church and community.

Their next season will be spent in Georgia to be closer to family.

Washington Avenue Baptist Church will miss you! You will always have a home at "The Wash!"
