Wintertime Pro Tip—when it’s not just chapped lips
Wintertime chapped lips not healing even though you’re faithful with chapstick? Are your lips 💋cracking at the corners? It’s probably angular cheilitis—an imbalance of microorganisms at the corners of the mouth due to a combination of dry air and licking of the lips.
The easiest at-home treatment is 2% miconazole nitrate, which is a generic “feminine antifungal cream” 🤷🏻♀️ apply it to the affected area up to 5 times a day, and cover it with a really basic healing ointment (even vaseline would work). You can also use hydrocortisone cream to help with the inflammation if needed. You should start to see results in just a couple days!
