Today @ 1848 Springfield Fire responded to Calavant Hill in Charlestown for a structure fire. E-3 with 3 and U-1 with 1 to assist. Upon arrival E-3 was requested to hit the hydrant and lay a line in. We did so dropping 1200 feet of 4”. After arrival to the scene we assisted with overhaul and mop up. We later transitioned over our engine to assist with foaming the residence down. Units were back in quarters at 2202 hrs.

The members of Rescue Company 1 are heartbroken over the loss of our brother, Robert Kilduff, Jr - Rescue Company 2.

Firefighter “BK” Kilduff gave his life in the service of others.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Today Springfield Fire responded to a structure fire in Charlestown NH. We responded with Tower 1 and E-3. Upon initial arrival the Tower crew assisted the first Charlestown Engine on scene with interior fire attack. Once other manpower and resources arrived water supply was established to our Tower we worked on roof ventilation and fire attack.

Tonight Springfield Fire focused training towards the rural hitch. Crews established connections to feed the front pumper from a second pumper, which had laid into the scene with a 4” supply line. The third pumper supplied water to the scene while systematically utilizing a tanker relay to keep the water to the scene moving.
