Effingham County UGA Cooperative Extension

Effingham County UGA Cooperative Extension The Effingham County Extension Office delivers educational programming in the areas of: Agriculture and Natural Resources and 4-H Youth Development.

UGA Cooperative Extension was founded in 1914 to take research-based agricultural information to the people of Georgia. Through the cooperative funding of federal, state and county governments, Extension agents are in almost every county in Georgia. County agents and specialists throughout the state share information on issues like water quality, profitability in agribusiness, family wellness and

...life skills. UGA Cooperative Extension coordinates 4-H, Georgia's largest youth program. Each year, almost 200,000 young Georgians participate in community projects, summer camps and conferences on today's issues while having fun and learning to work together. The leadership skills and responsible values they learn in 4-H last a lifetime.

The Annual Effingham County 4-H Awards Banquet was a wonderful evening filled with celebration and recognition!

Throughout the night, we honored our 4-H'ers for their accomplishments and dedication throughout the year, recognized the many volunteers who help make our program successful, and celebrated our graduating seniors as they were presented with their 4-H graduation cords.

We were also honored to have the Clyo Homemakers Club in attendance for their annual quilt drawing. Each year, a beautiful hand-stitched quilt is auctioned off to support the Clyo Homemakers Club Scholarship. This year's scholarship was awarded to Abbie Sulkowski. Congratulations, Abbie, and thank you to the Clyo Homemakers Club for their continued support of Effingham County 4-H!

With a strong turnout and so much support from families, volunteers, and community members, it was truly a great night for Effingham County 4-H. We are proud of all that our students have accomplished this year and look forward to another exciting year ahead!
