🚨 Weather Alert for Tuesday! 🚨
US National Weather Service Central Illinois is warning the community about an increased risk of afternoon field fires tomorrow.

Key details to know:
🕒 Timing: Late morning through early evening
💨 Winds: Gusts from the south-southwest up to 40 mph
💧 Humidity: Very low, around 35%
🌡️ Temperatures: Record highs in the low to mid-80s
🌾 Conditions: Extremely dry vegetation

Actions to take:

🚆Great News for Springfield! 🚆

U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, and U.S. Representative Nikki Budzinski have announced that Springfield will receive $157 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the final segment of the Springfield Rail Improvements Project (SRIP)!

This multi-phased project, made possible through local, state, and federal collaboration, will reduce rail congestion downtown by moving train traffic from Third Street to 10th Street and adding overpasses and underpasses along the corridor.

The final phase of SRIP will mean smoother traffic flow, less noise, and enhanced safety for both residents and visitors. We're excited about the progress this brings for our community—stay tuned for more updates on this transformational project!
