ECSO Partners with ConfirmOk for Daily Safety Check-Ins

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga: Sheriff McDuffie and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office announce a new partnership with ConfirmOk, a service designed to provide daily safety check-ins and peace of mind for residents, caregivers, and community organizations.

ConfirmOk offers scheduled check-in calls that ensure safety and connection for individuals and families throughout Effingham County. These daily calls are particularly beneficial for seniors, people living alone, or those who may need regular wellness checks. If a call goes unanswered, designated contacts or emergency responders can be promptly alerted.

Registered citizens will receive an automated call from ConfirmOk using a local telephone number at the time they choose each day. If they do not answer the first call, two additional automated calls will be placed at five-minute intervals. If there is still no answer after the third attempt, the system will notify the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office 9-1-1 dispatchers, which will follow up to ensure the individual’s well-being.

“This partnership allows us to bring an extra layer of safety to our residents. Whether it’s for a senior living independently, a caregiver wanting peace of mind, or local responders looking to support vulnerable community members, ConfirmOk offers an easy and reliable solution,” said Sheriff McDuffie

Through this program, Effingham County residents can register themselves or a loved one for routine wellness calls at scheduled times. Caregivers can receive immediate notifications in the event of a missed check-in, ensuring that help is never far away.

•Daily Check-in Calls: Automated calls at your preferred times ensure you or your loved ones are safe and well.

•Dispatch Calls on Missed Check-ins: Automatic emergency dispatch calls when check-ins are missed, providing critical information to first responders.

•Instant Notifications: Care group members receive immediate alerts about successful check-ins or missed calls.

•Flexible Scheduling: Customize check-in times to fit your routine and lifestyle needs.

The core workflow is straightforward:

1. Enrollment: An agency administrator, caregiver, or family member enrolls the senior in the system, selecting a preferred call time and contact method.

2. Daily check-in: At the scheduled time, the software places an automated phone call. The senior answers and presses a simple key combination (for example, 1 and #) to confirm they are safe.

3. Confirmation logged: The system records the successful check-in with a timestamp.

4. Missed check-in escalation: If the senior does not answer or does not confirm, the system immediately alerts the designated escalation contacts—a family member, a caregiver, or a dispatch center.

5. Resolution tracking: The escalation contact can log what happened (false alarm, medical issue, phone off, etc.), completing the record.
