Crabill Homestead

Crabill Homestead The Crabill Homestead is an 1820s homestead located above the C.J. Brown Reservoir. Closed for the 2024 season, it will reopen to the public in Spring 2025.

The David Crabill House is of late Federal design. Built in 1826, it is of the 1820-1830 style of architecture with both Pennsylvanian and Virginian influences. The home first appears on the County tax records in 1826. The house has two sections, the main house and the kitchen wing. The main portion of the home contains a parlor and dining room, on each side of a center hall and staircase.The seco

nd floor has two bedrooms and a small room. The parlor, dining room, and bedroom all have large fireplaces. The kitchen wing, off the north side of the house, has a large cooking fireplace with a root cellar below.

Step Back in Time at the Historic 1820s Crabill Homestead!

Join us for the first open house of the 2025 season on Saturday, May 31, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the beautifully preserved Crabill Homestead, located at 2800 Croft Road, overlooking the scenic C.J. Brown Reservoir.

Explore this early 19th-century home and discover what life was like for the Crabill family in the 1820s. It's a wonderful opportunity for history lovers, families, and curious visitors of all ages to connect with Clark County’s past.

Admission is free – come experience local history come to life!

It was a truly lovely afternoon for a tea at the homestead this past Saturday! Thank you to Al those who came out for the experience!

Huge thanks to all of the who cleaned the house, moved furniture, collected dishes and decor, and decorated for the occassion! Thanks to those who donated tents, donated food, baked good, made sandwiches, helped serve, entertained, kept the day going smoothly, and helped with cleanup and takedown. This event couldn’t happen without you all!

We're excited to announce that the Crabill Homestead Tea will be returning on Saturday, September 16! You will have the opportunity to reserve a spot at one of two seatings at 2:00pm and 5:00pm.
