In response to Governor Pritzker's plan to reduce operations at the Choate Mental Health and Development Center in Anna, our Reps hosted a Town Hall event to amplify the voices of the families, residents, and community members impacted by this dramatic downsizing.

The Governor's plan represents a major blow to Southern Illinois, impacting vulnerable patients, hundreds of employees and families throughout the region while raising serious questions about the long-term future of the Choate campus.

The Education Freedom Tax Credit would make career and technical education programs more accessible for Illinois students, setting them up for success in the workforce. This is a win for young people, job creators, and Illinois communities. All Governor Pritzker needs to do is opt-in to the program.

We need to reform Illinois' estate tax to help farm families keep their land and livelihoods for generations to come.

The president of the Illinois Farm Bureau says he’s optimistic that the state’s farmers could soon see estate tax relief. Phillip Nelson, who farms in LaSalle County, says Governor J.B. Pritzker and other state leaders are voicing their support for the Family Farm Preservation Act. “I was very...

This week our members spoke out against the Governor's plans to dramatically reduce operations at Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna. The lawmakers joined together to host a town hall meeting where the community could make their voices heard and join the fight to save Choate and the essential mental health services the center provides in the area.

State Representative Patrick Windhorst, State Representative Charlie Meier, State Representative Dave Severin, and State Representative Scott Doody attended and will continue to advocate for Choate.

Politics should never get in the way of providing the best possible outcomes for our children. If Governor Pritzker does not opt in to the Education Freedom Tax Credit, Illinois students will lose out on a valuable resource that could help them succeed.

Many education advocacy groups in Illinois have expressed concern that the program would funnel more money to private schools. But those supporting the program say the state will be passing on much-needed funding.

In Democrats' desperate attempt to grab more money from Illinois residents, they passed legally questionable new tax measures that they knew would lead to costly lawsuits. Now, the cracks in Democrats' plan are showing as similar tax laws are struck down in other states.

Tonight, a partial lunar eclipse will be visible across Illinois, with about 93% of the moon passing through Earth’s shadow at its peak. Clear skies should provide a great opportunity to catch the eclipse, which will peak around 11:12 p.m. Central Time.

Clear skies could make for a great view of tonight's lunar eclipse across Chicagoland. And summer isn't finished yet, with temperatures possibly reaching 90 degrees as August comes to an end.

Happy birthday to State Representative John M. Cabello. 🎉 Enjoy your day, Rep!
