We are so excited to share that our community garden project is underway! It's cold out there but today, there's a bit of Spring anticipation in the air at CCS. Thank you to the Coquille Indian Tribe and an anonymous donor for funding this project of joy and gardening opportunity for our unhoused families in our OASIS emergency family shelter and drop-in center.
Our Community Service Centers served up Christmas joy this morning, featuring Santa, Social Insecurity barbershop quartet, St. Paul school choir, hot cocoa, cookies and gifts for those in need. Thanks to all who blessed our neighbors through volunteering and donating time, treasure, and talent. Merry Christmas!
🌟🍫 Happy National Cocoa Day! 🍫🌟
On this cozy day, let’s come together to celebrate the warmth of community and the sweetness of sharing. A cup of cocoa reminds us of God’s love—comforting, rich, and meant to be shared with others. 💕
Today, we encourage you to spread kindness like whipped cream on cocoa: reach out, uplift, and serve those around you. Together, we can make the world a little warmer. ☕✨

Today was the Ribbon Cutting celebration for Eugene's very first Light The World Giving Machine located at Valley River Center. A Giving Machine is a unique vending machine that allows community members to support non-profit agencies and the people they serve. CCS is so grateful to be chosen by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as one of the local non-profits to participate in this special Christmas giving opportunity.
Visit the Giving Machine while it's in town November 23rd-December 15th!

Wow!! What a fun and wonderful night of music and community! Thank you to our dear friends, the Irish Echo , who sounded GREAT and are always "in our corner". Their "tip jar" raised $2,050 for our OASIS program, supporting unhoused families in Springfield with emergency shelter and daytime drop-in services. We are indeed Halfway to St. Patrick's Day and we can't wait to hear you again in March! Slainte!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Our hearts are full of gratitude! The Squeaky Clean Hygiene Drive exceeded all expectations, thanks to YOU - our wonderful community and dedicated bin hosts. Your compassion shines through in every donation.
Together, we collected 5,268 hygiene items that will be distributed back into our community free of charge and we're making life a little easier for those in need.
Thank you for being the change! ❤️

Urgent Need: Children's Clothing Donations
HELP LOCAL KIDS START SCHOOL WITH CONFIDENCE!
The CCS Clothing Closet is seeking donations of children's clothes sizes 12-18 for our back-to-school special. Your gently used items can make a big difference for families in need.
Special August offer for school-aged children: select up to 30 items per visit! Our inventory changes regularly, so families are welcome to visit multiple times for different options.
We rely on community donations to offer a variety of styles and sizes. Without your help, we can't provide the diverse selection our families need.
Drop off your donations at the Clothing Closet, located behind our Springfield building at 1025 G Street.
Your generosity helps kids feel prepared and excited for the new school year. Let's work together to support our community's children!

Splashing into Summer Fun
Splashing into Summer Fun: Family Support and Connections Event Makes Waves at Camp Harlow
Catholic Community Services of Lane County's Family Support and Connections event at Camp Harlow was a resounding success, filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories. Families from throughout the community came together to celebrate the spirit of togetherness and build lasting bonds.
Thanks to the efforts of the organization's staff and the enthusiasm of the families who participated, the event was a splashing success that will be cherished for years to come.
Our neighbors are hungry. As the largest distributor of free food in our community, CCS is here to help! Yesterday alone, we distributed a record number of 374 food boxes in four hours!!! Food insecurity is on the rise. We could not do this work without our partnering food suppliers- FOOD For Lane County and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are grateful to our food partners...thank you, thank you!!
If you would like to be a supporter of this great work for our community, please visit www.ccslc.org. We can ALWAYS use extra hands in our Eugene and Springfield food pantries and extra funds to purchase food for distribution!
