Good morning, God first rest to follow. Hope Rides Again is looking to rent a house in Cottage Grove to start a recovery house. We want to offer a hand up to people suffering in addictions and are homeless as a result. We believe it is important to help those who are suffering. We also Believe in accountability and taking responsibility for our own recovery. This house will be open to anyone reaching out for help with a willingness to put down drugs and work towards a self sustained life. We believe everyone deserves a chance. And we want to help make that possible in Cottage Grove. This house will have a live in manager. As well as the availability of Certified Recovery Mentor services. Jeremiah 29 11 For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for a hope and a future. And Proverbs 3 verses 5 and 6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways Acknowledge Him and He will make the path straight. I know God has a plan. With God in the lead and the awesome people who are working with me I know we are going to make a difference. Prayers up for all my family and friends. Good morning, God first rest to follow. Prayers up for my family , friends and those who are suffering in addiction and or homelessness. The Yucca in the photo is in full bloom. I never knew this until my awesome partner in life shared the early settlers seen these and called them Jacobs lanterns. Because to them they represent coming from darkness into the light. To our Homeless and those suffering in addictions I know what it's like to live in darkness. I know what it's like to believe there is no hope. I thank God for the day I couldn't go on any longer. Because the day I surrendered and asked God for help my life changed. I finally realized God hadn't left me. And it was me stopping the good He had for me. I pray daily anyone out there still suffering, stuck in addiction will realize there is hope and we do recover. My hand is still out reaching back to my friends on the streets. If that is you please know there is hope. We do recover. I'm always willing to help you get connected to resources that lead to a life of recovery. No it's not easy. Putting down drugs is hard. You don't have to do it alone. Putting our lives back together takes work. It takes willingness to face all we have been running from. I know how overwhelming that can seem. For me I needed God . He gave me the strength and courage to face life on life's terms. And the many people who have loved and supported me will never be taken for granted. God's grace has been amazing. Good afternoon. God first rest to follow ! The work isn't stopping. It's just changing. Praying for God's direction. Life does have its seasons. Good morning God first rest to follow. I feel it is important to be transparent in this work we are doing. So I am posting this note on the front door of the church. And on Facebook. This is hard. However the work I've been doing as it has been being done has become more than I can do if I want to also build a life for myself. The work isn't stopping. It is to important. It's in a transformation stage. This is painful. Yet finding balance and other committed help is essential to this being a part of a healthy life for me as well. This work is not easy. Fully committed help is needed. It takes a lot of sacrifice. I can't do all of this and work on bettering my life as well without committed help from others. Because if we are going to offer a service to people in need it needs to be consistent. My life is changing. I'm shifting my focus to what I believe is most important. I believe helping people who are willing to work towards a life free of addictions and willing to take steps to bettering their own situation is essential. And I hope people start realizing we don't have to remain stuck. A little faith and putting that faith into action can move mountains. However if we are not willing to face our fears and move forward change will never happen. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. I had to realize that in my own life before I finally surrendered and asked God for the courage and strength to put down the drugs that had nearly destroyed me and hurt every person I loved and cared about. I had to become willing to change. God gave me that strength. And I believe if you are someone reading this today still suffering in addictions or Homelessness that he will do the same. My hand is still out. Just the m**hod is changing . Because those who are suffering are important. And so am I. I've got to create balance. God bless. !!

Good morning, God first rest to follow. I want to apologize to anyone who has come to the church for a meal and we have been closed. I am working to find more volunteers to help us out. I also have had to work on clean up and getting my id replaced due to the burglary that occurred. We hope to reopen next week. It's been a strange week. Again my apologies. There will be changes. I will make them known as our transformation progresses. Prayers up for all my family, and friends. As well as those suffering in addictions and homelessness. God be with you.

Good morning, God first rest to follow. I'm at a crossroad. I need prayers. How to have healthy boundaries.?? As well as continue the important work God has placed before me. Balance of building a life for myself as well as continuing to help others. I'm praying others will support me in the building of a wonderful relationship like I thought I could never have. At the same time be able to believe I deserve to be happy too. COVID created a time all the work was absolutely necessary. I'm grateful to God and our wonderful church we have been able to do all we have. The work isn't stopping. It's shifting to what's in my heart needed. There is no doubt transformation can be uncomfortable. It's scary. All the unknowns. However I have to believe and trust God. And pray everyone involved can understand and not take personally any changes that are occurring. My focus is shifting. It's in my heart to open bridge housing and recovery houses in Cottage Grove that support the recovery life style. I can't be comfortable just feeding people food and continuing to support just homelessness. If we want a good life taking positive steps to becoming responsible and accountable is absolutely necessary. In order to teach that I've got to be an example. Ive got to build my own life as well..I've got to create balance. I'm praying a lot for God's direction and courage to move forward without fear. I'm struggling a bit. I'm worried people will think I'm ungrateful for all they have done for me. However that simply is not the case. This work God has put before me creates tremendous pressure. Sometimes it seems more than I can stand. Yet as I really on God more and more it seems he always makes a way. The work isn't stopping. However changes are inevitable. That's life. Today at Hope Community Church 205 23 rd Street Springfield Oregon 97477 this meal of smoked pork, mashed potatoes and veggies is available for anyone in need from 9 am til 5 pm. We are both Certified Recovery Mentor's who have a desire to help others succeed. We love connecting anyone who reaches out for help with a willingness to address barriers and work towards a path of recovery with resources that make recovery possible. Truth, it takes willingness, honesty and work. However recovery is possible. And you don't have to do it alone. Lane county has an amazing recovery community. I know as a person who was addicted to drugs over 40 years and the last 6 years of my addiction living on the streets how impossible it seems. My truth is I came to a point of desperation and Surrender. I realized the drugs were destroying any chance of a better life. They had destroyed anything positive in my life. I turned to God and I became willing to put down the drugs and I started reaching back to help others do the same. Today the thought of getting loaded turns my stomach. I believe God did that and I'm grateful for it. Helping others in truth helps me remember what it was like and where I don't want to return. However I never want to forget where I came from. Because there are a lot of people I love still stuck. Please if you are stuck reach out. You are worth it even if it's hard to believe right now. We want to help you. Recovery is possible. Good morning , God first rest to follow. Hope everyone has an amazing day. Today at Hope Community Church 205 23 rd Street Springfield Oregon a meal is available from 9 am until 5 pm for anyone in need. As always our hand is reaching back to those who are houseless or suffering in addiction. We love connecting people who are ready for a better life to resources that lead to a path of recovery. Recovery is possible. However it takes a willingness to address barriers. It takes a willingness to put down whatever is keeping us stuck. I post often. I do this because I understand hopelessness. I understand how toxic the lifestyle of homelessness can be. I used to be there. After 40 years of addiction the last 6 of it living on the streets I had come to believe this is all my life is ever going to be. Every morning I would wake up reach for my drugs I thought I needed to wake up and deal with the coming day. And each time I would be telling myself tomorrow I won't do this just one more day. After getting loaded I'd spend the rest of the day figuring out how I'd find some more . It made no sense. I knew the drugs were destroying my ability to make anything positive come of my life. Yet I just kept on. Honestly to the point I was convinced this was all my life would ever be. To the point on that last day I was so tired and exhausted I just knew I couldn't nor did I want to live like this anymore. I contemplated su***de. I was in the middle of knickerbacher bridge thinking about my brother who had been found dead in the river . He also was a m**h addict and homeless when he had passed. I thought about my dad who had passed from a he**in overdose. And I thought about the many friends who keep turning up dead. I thought about how people looked at me as they passed by me on the bike path everyday. The looks of disgust. The scowls when I would say good morning to people passing by. And I realized I hated my life. That day I looked down at my dog . He is what stopped me from jumping on a rock. He is my gift from God. Instead of jumping I prayed and made a decision throw away the drugs. Since that day my life has gotten better. This is why I do what I do today. To my friends on the streets. Recovery is possible. Today at Hope Community Church 205 23 rd Street Springfield Oregon this meal of Pork roast , potatoes , and carrots and desert will be available from 9 am until 5 pm for anyone in need. As always we are grateful to everyone who helps us with donations of food to keep this going . We couldn't do this without your help. Thank you. I want to also share that although making sure people do not have to go hungry an equally important part of what we do is help anyone who is houseless or suffering in addictions that reaches out for help with a willingness to put down whatever is keeping us stuck and work towards a better life get connected to resources that lead to a path of recovery and being housed. Myself and Daniel Lee Bliss are both recovering addicts also recovering from homelessness. Since by the grace of God I was able to put down drugs and work towards a self sustained life 4 1/2 years ago I've started Hope Rides Again a non profit with the goal of being able to help immediately anyone who reaches out for help. God has opened many doors. Our hope is that anyone who is tired of being stuck will realize recovery is possible. And you don't have to do it alone. We are grateful to the many people who have helped us to be able to do this. Thank you. As always I need to add just as important as making sure nobody has to go hungry we also are reaching out to help anyone who is ready for change. Myself and my friend Daniel Lee Bliss are both in recovery from addiction as well as homelessness. By the grace of God we found a way out. Because we are grateful and we understand how hopeless and impossible it can seem our hand is reaching back. We are both Certified Recovery Mentor's. Today from 9 am til 5 pm at Hope Community Church 205 23 rd street Springfield Oregon a meal for anyone in need will be available. I share these post with several groups knowing that in some cases it is probably to far away for some to get here for the meals. However I share anyways because we don't just want to fill people's bellies. Myself and my friend Daniel Lee Bliss are both recovering addicts as well as recovering from many years of homelessness by the grace of God We have both done the work needed to become Certified Recovery Mentor's. Since getting clean I've worked very hard to start Hope Rides Again a 501 c non profit business with the dream in my heart to help as many people as possible realize recovery is possible and to be able to reach out to anyone who is at the point of surrender realizing they are stuck and are willing to do the work necessary to find a life of recovery and a path out of the toxic cycle of homelessness and addiction. We do this because we are grateful for the grace we received. We do this because we care. We do this because we understand how impossible it can seem when we are caught up in the life that comes from being stuck on the streets. Feeling hopeless is real. However change can happen when we make the decision to put down what is keeping us stuck. And begin taking positive steps that lead to recovery. And we do this so anyone that reaches out for help can know you don't have to do it alone. Our hand is reaching out. There is help. Just a reminder to anyone suffering in homelessness or addictions there is always a meal from 9 am til 5 pm available at Hope Community Church 205 23 rd Street Springfield Oregon 97477. And because we believe it's not enough to just fill the belly while our homeless continue just surviving on the streets I want to share that our hand is reaching back to help anyone who reaches out for help find a path of recovery. I and my friend Daniel Lee Bliss as well as a new volunteer Candice are Certified Recovery Mentor's. We have all been homeless as well as stuck in addiction. By the grace of God we are in recovery and want to share our recovery with you. We don't require people to accept our help. But if you reach out with a willingness to put down drugs and work towards a life of recovery we will do everything possible to help you developed a path of recovery. And connect you with the resources that make it possible. For me God is a part of my story. Without Him recovery wasn't possible. I don't push God on anyone.
