IMPORTANT UPDATE: The second of the two forum dates has been moved from Oct 15 to Oct 23 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The first forum on Oct 10 will go ahead as scheduled!

On Oct 15, we ask the people to attend the City's Planning and Zoning Committee meeting at 6:30 PM at the Temporary City Council Chambers (Police South District Station) at 2620 W Battlefield Road. The rezoning of 2900 S National Ave will be discussed. VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION!

Springfield City Council has not only failed you,
it was never built to serve you or your interests.

When asked by the people to even gather and reveal facts about Flock and the surveillance state in Springfield, they (led by Mayor Smug) tried to silence the people. Combine this with their continued efforts to try to market data centers to make them palatable when the people clearly don’t want them in our city or our neighborhoods, and you get well deserved outrage from the people!

However, we should not be surprised that any level of government in the U.S. serves the powerful monied interests rather than the right to the basic needs and dignity of working people. We cannot let the city council and their wealthy cronies wear us down. The deck is stacked against us. But no matter what setbacks we may face, we must continue to organize and fight.

The city government has held their marketing sessions to try to convince us that data centers are something we have to accept. How little do they understand our resolve!?

We have organized a People’s Forum in opposition to Data Centers. People from any or all political ideologies who want to fight against data centers are welcome to attend and work with us!

On October 7, we mark three years of ESCALATED war crimes, including GENOCIDE, committed by Isreal and funded by the US against the people of Palestine.
The Palestinian people have endured almost 80 years of horrific abuse at the hands of the colonizers. They continue to resist. The world has woken up and stands with Palestine.

PSL Springfield condemns violence against trans and gender non-conforming people, including the recent act of violence in Springfield. Last weekend, a bigoted thug demanded to know someone's gender and then brutally assaulted them and left them bleeding on the street. The assailant was arrested and is currently in jail. But our justice system in the US repeatedly fails trans victims, even sometimes blaming them for their assault.

So, we also condemn the hatred that is stoked against us in order to divide the working class. Trans people are just trying to live our lives authentically. Demonizing us only serves to take the focus off the wealthy few who are exploiting us all. Unfortunately, it also results in the hateful and bigoted feeling entitled to attack us.

It is a fact that violence against trans people escalates during the US election season. Repugnant anti-trans rhetoric, like that in the recent ad promoting amendment 3, are unconscionable. Amendment 3 is using anti-trans hate to try to trick people into voting against abortion rights - the same rights that voters already approved two years ago.

Don’t be fooled and don’t tolerate bigotry of any kind. Vote no on amendment 3 and stand with us in defense of our trans siblings!

The PEOPLE don't want data centers in Springfield MO!

If it requires water cooling, it doesn't belong within the city limits or next to neighborhoods.

Trent Overhue thinks Springfield city government answers to him.

We need to make sure that our city government knows that they answer to the people, not the developers who stand to make profit off of something nobody wants.

Show up, bring your concerns, and make sure officials can not mistake public participation for public consent.

The struggle for LGBTQ liberation continues!

The Party for Socialism and Liberation refuses to let the Trump administration and their agenda further divide the working class. We stand united and will continue to fight back against the bigotry and hatred towards LGBTQIA+ communities and all other oppressed people.

Join us on Saturday, September 5th, and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community for Pride on S. Joplin Ave starting at 11 AM. We will have a booth, so stop by, say hello, and learn more about the PSL!

Even the name "data center" is misleading, because it leaves off the "human-generated" that belongs at the beginning. This is the physical infrastructure that makes mass AI processing possible, including the systems increasingly used to sort, analyze, and search enormous amounts of information about our lives.

Our movements, relationships, purchases, politics, and daily routines are already being turned into data. Corporations collect it, brokers sell it, and government agencies buy access to it. AI makes surveillance possible at a scale that would once have required enormous amounts of human labor.

That is why we call data centers what they are: surveillance centers. Human life becomes the raw material, and powerful institutions gain the capacity to turn you into profiles, predictions, and targets.

On August 22, take that concern into the streets. Come meet the people in Springfield who are fighting for our water, power, privacy, and communities.

It's time to build the organized movement needed to win a permanent ban.

This is an unprovoked act of war that Trump and Israel carried out to pursue his twisted dream of “running” the whole world. It is completely illegal under both the constitution and international law. Iran has not attacked the United States and has no intention to do so. Trump decided to initiate this war because he wants to be able to dictate to any government around the world what it should do in its own country.
