Springfield is a beautiful residential community located in the Union County, New Jersey with a population of approximately 15,800. The Township operates under the Township Committee form of government and is comprised five members elected to staggered, three-year terms. At the Committee’s organizational meeting each January, one member is elected to serve as Mayor for a twelve-month term and another is chosen to serve as Deputy Mayor.

Register your children for Acting, Improv, and Public Speaking classes at the Chisholm Community Center in Springfield, New Jersey - Union County, taught by Party Maniacs of New Jersey in partnership with the Springfield Recreation Department. Public Speaking
Public Speaking classes for ages 7-14 are held on Thursdays 9/17/26-10/22/26 from 4:00-5:00 pm. The cost is $150 per child. Learn self confidence, self esteem, valuable communication skills, proper eye contact and body language, how to captivate an audience, and the skills to plan and prepare a speech.

Acting
Acting classes are open to children ages 9-14. The weekly classes are held on Fridays 9/18/26-11/13/26 (skip 11/6/26) from 4:00-5:00 pm. The cost is $225 per child. Learn acting techniques, play acting games to better your skills, learn theatre terms, prepare a final talent showcase, and more!

Improv
New Improv classes are open to children ages 9-15. The weekly classes are held on Fridays 9/18/26-11/13/26 (skip 11/6/26) from 5:30-6:30 pm. The cost is $225 per child. Learn improv techniques, play improv games to better your skills, learn comedy terms, match emotion and humor to movement, prepare a final performance, and more!

One seats is still available on our bus trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in Hampton, for "A Playhouse Christmas" on Thursday, December 3. The cost is $99, and includes round-trip transportation, chaperone, lunch, dessert, show, and gratuities. The trip is open to Springfield, New Jersey - Union County residents ages 55+ and members of the Springfield Senior Citizens Club. Seats are first-come first-served with paid registration. Register online on CommunityPass at https://register.communitypass.net/springfield Or pay in the Springfield Recreation Department office. Questions?
