🌿🐦 Young Explorers is back in action! 🐦🌿

A great crowd adventurers joined us Tuesday morning at Baker Pond Community Park as the Young Explorers: Outdoor Activities program resumed with a fun-filled game of Nature Bingo. Forty-six participants explored the park, searching for plants, animals and other natural treasures to complete their bingo cards and learn more about the world around them. 🍃🔍

The adventure continues Thursday at 10 a.m. with Sights and Sounds of Nature, where participants will discover the many sights, sounds and wonders found in the outdoors. 🌳🎶

⌛ Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Be sure to mark your calendars, tryouts for our Jags football teams are just around the corner! These teams will primarily compete on Saturdays throughout the season.

Information regarding tryouts for our recreational teams will be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for updates.

All players, regardless of team placement, will have the opportunity to try out for the teams selected to represent our department at District and State competitions.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the field and wish all athletes the best of luck at tryouts! 💪🏈🐆

⚾ Navigators baseball returns to the diamond at Josh Reddick Stadium at 6:30 p.m. Thursday!

Navigators baseball is part of the broader Effingham Navigators program — an inclusive recreational organization created for children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What started as a vision has grown into a tremendous community effort supported by schools, recreation officials, businesses and volunteers across Effingham County.

The program gives participants the opportunity to play sports, build friendships and stay active in a fun, supportive environment where everyone belongs.

Josh Reddick Stadium’s wheelchair-accessible turf surface helps ensure athletes of all abilities can take part in the game. Navigators contests focus on inclusion, encouragement and fun — proving that the love of the game is bigger than the scoreboard.

Come out Thursday evening to cheer on these amazing athletes! 💙⚾
