Kelly Stettner of the Black River Action Team gave a demonstration about stream morphology, water quality management, and erosion to the RVTC Horticulture and Natural Resources program. Students were engaged in discussion and a hands on lab involving a stream simulator. They were able to see first hand how changing the dynamic of a stream or river through channelization and dredging impact water quality and erosion levels.

We shared two weeks ago about the RVTC July 13 - 24 CNC Boot Camp, the perfect opportunity to launch your next career in an Advanced Manufacturing entry-level position. Attend one of two Open House events to learn all you can about this 2-week training program designed by industry and instructors to prepare participants for jobs in advanced manufacturing that require levels of skills and knowledge that are nearly unparalleled in other industries.

Today, Level 1 Health Sciences students attended the Dartmouth Health Healthcare Career Expo for a day of hands-on learning, career exploration, and networking with healthcare professionals.

Students explored a variety of healthcare careers through interactive activities and demonstrations while gaining valuable insight into the many pathways within healthcare.

We are grateful to Dartmouth Health for hosting such an engaging event and helping inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals! 🩺🏥🩻🥼❤️‍🩹

Some of the most impactful journeys into healthcare begin long before college or clinicals — they start in classrooms like those at River Valley Tech Center.

For countless future nurses, Health Studies Instructor Lara Peck has been a mentor, advocate, and guiding force — helping students build the confidence, compassion, and critical skills needed to succeed in nursing and healthcare careers.

As we close out National Nurses Week, it is especially meaningful to recognize Lara and the lasting impact she continues to make on the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Chapter Five, the final installment of our Nursing Stories series, features Lara’s heartfelt and inspiring reflections on her personal journey and the powerful role educators play in shaping the future of nursing.

Students from the RVTC Horticulture and Natural Resources program recently assited the VT Agency of Natural Resources to release trout into the Black River, supporting local biodiversity and river health. This hands-on conservation project offers a unique opportunity for students to apply their studies to real-world ecosystems right in our own backyard.
