We're proud to announce our November 2024 Student of the Month, Kaleb! Kaleb was nominated by Nissie, who said: "Kaleb has grown so much during his time at A3. He has grown as a scholar, writer and community member. Kaleb has proven himself as a kind and inclusive team leader; someone who works hard to develop his skills and encourage others. We're happy to announce A3's October 2024 Student of the Month: Mish! Mish was nominated by Cody, who says: "Mish is high energy, eager to learn, and intensely curious. They've been in all of our theater productions, taking on all of their roles with enthusiasm and skill. They also actively participate in the Student Voice team and are a crucial part of the student Leadership class. Nothing seems to get Mish down. Their optimism and positivity is on display 24/7 making our work as teachers extremely rewarding. Mish is one of those students that teachers can use as a barometer: we know we're doing a good job if Mish is interested in the task at hand and enjoying the learning process. We're lucky to have Mish as an A3 student."

We fell a little (a lot) far behind on our Student of the Month announcements, but we're back at it now.

We're proud to announce A3's September 2024 Student of the Month: Phoenix! Nissie, who nominated Phoenix, has this to say: "Besides being an A3 gallery TA, and an Visual/Media honors student, Phoenix has taken on volunteered to take on the Herculean task of being Nissie's personal assistant as part of their senior project and has done an amazing job. Phoenix has streamlined the gallery work, VMA emails, my schedule, etc. Phoenix is the paragon of what every A3 student should aspire to be. They always strive to do their best, seeking out opportunities to improve themselves as both a scholar and artist. They won first place at this year's Springfield Mayor's Art Show."

We have some BIG news for A3!

Oregon Department of Education just released state report cards and we're thrilled to announce that our 2023-2024 school year graduation rate was 100 percent!

This is a huge accomplishment and a direct result of the massive amounts of energy, time and commitment devoted to our school. From our innovative and unstoppable staff who pour their hearts into A3, to our students who actively choose to model and encourage student excellence every day, to our families and community who steadfastly support our mission, please know that you did this. Every one of you should be proud of yourselves and this achievement. Give yourselves and each other a round of applause!

Have a great weekend, we'll see you next Monday, February 3 at 8:25 am for the first day of Term 3!

Things to know about the next several days: tomorrow is the last day of J-Term and J-Fluence will be from 1-2:30 pm. Everyone is invited to J-Fluence! Students will be released at 3:10 pm. No school this Thursday or Friday.

Next Monday, February 3 begins Term 3. and we'll be back to our regular schedule. Class begins at 8:25 am and ends at 4:15 pm Monday-Thursday. EVERY Friday is a late start: class begins at 12:25 pm and ends at 4:15 pm on Fridays.

Would you like to be part of a public art installation? A3 is planning to build a large crow statue in downtown Springfield and if you'd like to get involved we've set up a GoFundMe account through Springfield Education Foundation. Any amount helps! Remember late start Fridays? They're back! Starting this Friday March 1, every Friday is a late start until May Term. Class is 10:25 am to 4:15 pm.

Today we celebrate the birthday of one of the coolest people in the world, Ame Beard! We are so lucky to have Ame at A3!

Everyone (except staff) gets a four day weekend! Great job on finishing up J Term, we hope everyone gets some rest. We'll see you next Monday, February 5, 2024 for the first day of Term 3 (first half of Semester 2.)
