Today we celebrate the retirement of COL Dennis Arroyo, an outstanding Army National Guard medical professional whose dedication, compassion, and leadership have made a lasting impact on Soldiers and their families.

You have spent years caring for others, mentoring teammates, and serving with integrity and heart. This hard work and commitment to the mission truly embody what it means to be a Citizen-Soldier.

While we’ll miss their presence in uniform, their legacy of service and care will continue to inspire us all.

As we reflect on the past year, we would like to highlight a major joint military and civilian medical exercise held in June 2025. The 935th Medical Section, in collaboration with Special Operations medical personnel, conducted a two-day exercise focused on enhancing emergency response capabilities. Training scenarios emphasized rapid assessment and stabilization of civilian casualties, advanced trauma care, and coordinated medical transport operations. Participants also practiced key EMT skills, including airway management, hemorrhage control, patient triage, splinting, and vital sign monitoring under simulated high-stress conditions. This exercise strengthened interoperability between military and civilian responders and reinforced readiness for real-world emergencies.
