Springfield’s St James the apostle church held a “community day of service” on Saturday. One of their services was cleaning the parks and paths over by Meisel Field and the community gardens. We would love to thank those volunteers for their service. Great job guys.

HELP THE TREES!!!!!!! The DPW is doing their best to water young trees in our community, but it would go a long way for residents that have new trees in their sidewalk to help and keep the trees watered during the upcoming heat wave.

Clean Up Springfield Today at Laurel Park 11-2

Clean community day is still on for today! I walked back in the woods and it is walkable and there’s plenty of garbage to be cleaned! Community service hours offered for your teens that need them. I am very generous with hours when kids work hard.

Free trees for planting leftover from Arbor Day also being distributed. Come on by and grab one.

Please open up the above link and sign petition to urge the US Congress to implement meaningful Rahway River flood control. Since 2015, $7 million has been spent by federal and state governments to study the issue. It is beyond outrageous that the US Army Corps left the process with no action. Where is the outrage. Citizens need to step up to get a public protection plan in place.
