On going strong storms with heavy rain this morning combined with the rain from Tuesday and with the potential for more storms with heavy rainfall later Wednesday afternoon and night. We've already had flash flood warnings this morning over the Bluegrass region with waves of continued showers and storms

A weakening line of strong to severe storms may bring damaging winds, frequent lightning, and torrential rainfall to portions of the area this evening, with the highest risk being over southern Indiana and northeast Kentucky. Stay weather aware, and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Tuesday Morning Update: Areas northeast and east of Louisville are now under an Enhanced Risk of severe weather. The severe risk drops the farther south and west due to high pressure's influence. Damaging winds and torrential rainfall are the main threats; however, an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

An area of low pressure will move into the region on Saturday, along with a cold front. After a round of garden variety showers and storms in the morning, afternoon and early evening storms could become strong to severe.

Scattered severe thunderstorms across northern Illinois into central Indiana may head our way later this evening, bringing a risk for severe weather overnight. Uncertainty remains high in the precise track and timing of these storms, but they could bring damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, along with torrential rain.

A complex of thunderstorms will approach southern Indiana this evening bringing a damaging wind threat, in addition to lightning and heavy rain. This system of storms will likely weaken as it advances into Kentucky.
