A man who barricaded himself in his house in a 15-hour standoff near Watson Thursday surrendered early Friday with an injury to his hand, authorities said.

It was a beautiful day for rappelling at Marseilles! Members of the Civil Air Patrol Illinois Wing and cadets had the opportunity to spend time with the Silver SWAT team and see some of their equipment.

M/Sgt. Whitenack and Tpr. Sulfridge worked with cadets at the Illinois Wing - Civil Air Patrol Encampment today. They were each given one on one time with instructions on how to rappel. Some needed encouragement, some went multiple times! It was a great day!
