Beat the heat with Centennial PTO this week! We have two activities to help. Cool down with Popsicles on the Playground at Heron Park on Wednesday. Keep the kitchen cool on Thursday by joining as MOD Pizza where a portion of the proceeds goes back to Centennial Elementary.

Summer EBT is a new grocery benefits program. It helps families buy food for their school-aged children when school is out. Each summer, families will get one yearly payment of $120 for each eligible child to buy groceries.

If you already have SNAP, TANF or OHP, Summer EBT will be automatically added to your EBT card. School age children in foster care are also automatically eligible.

Families, the summer food program starts today! The closest sites to our neighborhood are Guy Lee Park and Meadow Park.

Summer Food is back! ☀️🍎🥪 Starting today, we invite children and youth ages 18 and younger to eat FREE lunch during the summer months! Meals are served at over 30 sites throughout Lane County.

The program runs from June 24th to August 23rd, Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Check our website for more info, including menus, meal sites, and activities! https://bit.ly/FFLCSummerFood 😎✨❤

📣 UPDATE! 📣

At its June 10 meeting the School Board voted to approve union contracts that created a few adjustments to the 2024-25 Academic Calendar.

These adjustments apply to all grade levels.

What this means for families:
▪️No school Friday, October 11 for an in-service day.
▪️Changes to early release days:
▫️ Sept. 20 is a full day; Sept. 27 is an early release day.
▫️ January 10 is now a full day.
▫️ Early release days in May are now May 9 and May 23.

Families, our office will be closed on Wednesday for the Juneteenth holiday, but we'll be open on Thursday and Friday until 4 if you need to pick up any items of your students' or finish up with registration!

Calling all kids! 📣

SPS summer sports camps teach the fundamentals of a sport in a friendly, low-pressure environment, led by coaches and players from Springfield High School and Thurston High School. The main goal for our camps is to have fun! 🤸‍♀️
