Energy efficiency improvements are underway at The Oak Inn in Oak Park!

Housing Forward, a nonprofit providing housing and support services to people experiencing homelessness across 26 Cook County communities, received a $1 million award through Illinois EPA’s Energy Efficiency Trust Fund Grant Program.

The funding will support a new HVAC system and high efficiency boilers at The Oak Inn, a former 1926 hotel now serving as a medical respite and transitional housing facility.

These upgrades will help improve building efficiency while supporting Housing Forward’s mission to provide essential services and housing to those in need.

💊 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is this weekend!

Take a few minutes to clean out your medicine cabinet and safely dispose of unused or expired medications at a drop-off location near you. This free, nationwide event is hosted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and is open to everyone.

Can’t make it this weekend? No problem. Illinois residents have access to convenient, year-round drop-off locations through the state’s medication take-back program.
