The General Municipal Election ballot includes a wide variety of candidates and/or issues in nine cities, five school districts, and three fire protection districts.

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller announces the following polling location changes for voters eligible to vote in the General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 7.

The following polling locations are permanently changed:
• 2-AB: Voters who previously voted at University Heights Baptist Church will now vote at Rountree Elementary School, 1333 Grand St, Springfield, MO 65804
• 35-A: Voters who previously voted at Fire Station #8 will now vote at Sherwood Elementary School, 2524 S Golden Ave, Springfield, MO 65807
• Washington: Voters who previously voted at Logan-Rogersville Middle School will now vote at One Community Church, 355 N Missouri Blvd, Rogersville, MO 65742

The following polling locations are closed for the General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 7 due to no issues on the ballot for this election:
• 1st Franklin: Liberty Baptist Church, 4360 E Farm Road 66, Springfield, MO 65803
• Pond Creek: Meadowview Baptist Church, 1100 W State Highway 174, Republic, MO 65738

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller announces to all eligible voters wishing to vote absentee for the General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 7:

No-excuse absentee voting will be available in person at the Greene County Elections Center, 1126 N. Boonville Ave. in Springfield, on Saturday, April 4 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

In-person no excuse absentee voting will be available Tuesday, March 31 through Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6 at the following locations and during the hours listed below 👇

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller reminds all voters wishing to vote absentee for the General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 7, the deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is this coming Wednesday, March 25 at 5:00 pm. To help ensure the request is received by the deadline, voters may request an absentee ballot by downloading and completing the application form at https://vote.greenecountymo.gov/ and returning it by email to [email protected]. Ballots must be completed and received in the Office of the County Clerk by 7:00 pm on Election Day to be counted.

Absentee voting is available in person for all eligible voters at the Greene County Archives, 1126 N. Boonville Ave. in Springfield, Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, up to and including the day prior to the election, and will also be available on Saturday, April 4 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the same location. Under Missouri law, beginning Tuesday, March 24, voters who vote in-person absentee will not be required to give a reason for doing so.

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller announced that Greene County registered voters will receive new voter identification cards in the mail over the next two weeks. This required biennial mailing helps keep voter records accurate. The cards list each voter’s polling place, ward or township, and district information.

Some voters will have new polling locations:
• 2-AB: Rountree Elementary, 1333 Grand Street, Springfield
• 35-A: Sherwood Elementary, 2524 S. Golden Avenue, Springfield
• Washington: One Community Church – Rogersville, 355 N. Missouri Boulevard, Rogersville

Schoeller encourages voters to review their cards for accuracy and be prepared for Election Day. Missouri law requires a valid state or U.S. government–issued photo ID to vote.

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller reminds all eligible Greene County residents that they have until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11 to register to vote with eligibility for the General Municipal Election on Tuesday, April 7.

Residents may register to vote in one of the following ways:
1) visit the Office of the County Clerk in the Historic Courthouse at 940 N Boonville Ave, Room 113 in Springfield during business hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm;
2) visit any Missouri Department of Revenue vehicle license office or any branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library;
3) visit the website for the Missouri Secretary of State at https://www.sos.mo.gov/.
4) Mail-in (postcard) registrations will also be accepted if postmarked by Wednesday, March 11.

Voter registration information is also available online at https://greenecountymo.gov/county_clerk/.

A person applying to register with an election authority or a deputy registration official shall identify himself or herself by presenting a copy of a birth certificate, a Native American tribal document, other proof of United States citizenship, a valid Missouri driver’s license, or other form of personal identification at the time of registration.

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller announces to Greene County registered voters that absentee voting will begin on Tuesday, February 24 for those eligible voters who are unable to go to their regular polling place on Tuesday, April 7 for the upcoming General Municipal Election. In Greene County, the April ballot includes a wide variety of candidates and/or issues in nine cities, five school districts, and three fire protection districts.

Sample ballots are available in the Office of the County Clerk and at https://vote.greenecountymo.gov. Questions about absentee voting may be directed to the Office of the County Clerk at 417-868-4055 or [email protected].

By statute, voters are permitted to cast an absentee ballot for one of the following reasons:
• Absence on Election Day from the jurisdiction of the election authority in which such voter is
registered to vote;
• Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability on Election Day, including a
person who is primarily responsible for the physical care of a person who is incapacitated or
confined due to illness or disability and resides at the same address;
• Religious belief or practice;
• Employment as an election authority or by an election authority at a location other than such
voter’s polling place, a first responder, a health care worker, or a member of law enforcement;
• Incarceration, provided all qualifications for voting are retained;
• Certified participation in the address confidentiality program established under RSMo 589.660 to
589.681 because of safety concerns.

Procedures for candidates filing for a county office or a central committee for their respective party in Greene County for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election will be announced at a news conference on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

The chair or a member of the central committee for the Republican and Democratic parties, which will be represented on the ballot for the August Primary Election, will join Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller at the news conference. They will be available to discuss the procedures for candidates who wish to file for a Greene County office or for a central party committee.
