The Beeches, built from 1864 to 1867, is located on a hillside overlooking deep, green valleys in Robertson County, Tennessee. The Italianate structure, designed by noted architect William Strickland, is two-stories high with a four-story tower. The mansard-roofed tower is accented by three circular windows and carved wooden brackets. It is said that from this vantage point you can see about ten m

iles east, west, and south. The Beeches is one of the last remaining homes in Tennessee with original hand-painted ceilings in the grand foyer and dining room. The Beeches was originally home to John Woodard, a distinguished politician and businessman who served in the House of Representatives in the Thirty-third, Thirty-fifth, and Forty-second General Assemblies. The home is now owned by Kerry Roberts, a Tennessee State Senator.
