Our Big Red Drumline had the honor of performing at the 2026 Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony, leading the procession of this year’s inductees onto the red carpet. 🔥

From our school to the biggest stages in Springfield — our Lions are making moves. 🦁❤️

COMMUNITY = SUCCESS 🦁

One month ago, we kicked off the school year the Libertas way—with our annual Back-to-School BBQ and a whole lot of community.

Families, students, alumni, staff, and Springfield neighbors came together for food trucks, bounce houses, DJ Boogy and dancing, free haircuts, school supplies and popsicles, drumline, and special hellos from the Springfield Fire and Police Departments. Student advisors also had the chance to meet and welcome families as we prepared for another year together.

As we close out August and head into September, we’re carrying that same spirit with us: our community always has our backs. And when our community comes together, our students succeed! 🏆

COMUNIDAD = ÉXITO 🦁

Hace un mes, ¡dimos inicio al año escolar al estilo Libertas! Celebramos nuestro BBQ anual de Regreso a Clases, rodeados de mucha alegría y comunidad.

Familias, estudiantes, exalumnos, personal y vecinos de Springfield se reunieron para disfrutar de camiones de comida, casas inflables, música y baile con DJ Boogy, cortes de cabello gratis, útiles escolares y paletas, nuestra banda de percusión y saludos especiales del Departamento de Bomberos y el Departamento de Policía de Springfield. Nuestros asesores estudiantiles también tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer y dar la bienvenida a las familias mientras nos preparábamos para comenzar juntos otro año escolar.

Al cerrar el mes de agosto y entrar en septiembre, llevamos con nosotros ese mismo espíritu: nuestra comunidad siempre está para apoyarnos. Y cuando nuestra comunidad se une, nuestros estudiantes tienen éxito. 🏆

What a way to wrap 🌯 up Week 1!

Our Upper Academy came together for a Back-to-School Pep Rally filled with friendly competition, school spirit, and plenty of Lion pride—from tug of war and a three-point shootout to musical chairs and human tic-tac-toe.

We also celebrated our Student Government candidates as they announced their campaigns, including speeches from our Class President candidates.

A strong start to the year, Lions! 🦁

Week 1 → Let’s go, Lions! 🦁

Last week, we kicked off the year with Student Orientation Week—and now, we’re officially heading into our first full week of classes!

Our focus is clear: JUMP IN. LEAN IN. PARTICIPATE. 💯

These are more than classroom expectations. They’re habits that build confidence, resilience, and the identity of successful scholars—because our goal isn’t simply to get our students into college. It’s to prepare them to persist, thrive, and graduate once they get there.

If the school year is a marathon, we’re in Mile 1–and the foundation is already being built every class, every interaction, every day.

Semana 1 → ¡Vamos, Lions! 🦁

La semana pasada comenzamos el año con nuestra Semana de Orientación Estudiantil, ¡y ahora oficialmente nos preparamos para nuestra primera semana completa de clases!

Nuestro enfoque es claro: PARTICIPA. INVOLÚCRATE. DA LO MEJOR DE TI. 💯

Estas son más que expectativas para el salón de clases. Son hábitos que desarrollan la confianza, la perseverancia y la identidad de estudiantes exitosos—porque nuestra meta no es simplemente lograr que nuestros estudiantes entren a la universidad. Queremos prepararlos para que perseveren, tengan éxito y se gradúen una vez estén allí.

Si el año escolar es un maratón, estamos apenas en el Kilómetro 1, y ya estamos construyendo los cimientos en cada clase, cada interacción y cada día.

Our educators are hard at work preparing to welcome our new and returning students. We can’t wait to see everyone back and kick off another year of growth, learning, and possibility!

A few things to do before next Monday:

📅 Review this Student Orientation Week schedule carefully to see which day each grade is expected for orientation. All students will begin on Friday, August 21.

🚌 Parents & guardians: Check your email for important transportation information.

📝 New parents & guardians: If you haven’t already, please complete your student’s registration before Orientation Week. If you need support, contact Ms. Alvarado or Ms. Nunez.

We hope everyone is having a fun, safe, and relaxing summer! 🌞

Before we know it, we’ll be back together for another incredible school year. Join us on Wednesday, August 5, at 4PM for our annual Back-to-School BBQ! Enjoy free food, a bounce house, school supplies, and live music from DJ Boogey as we celebrate the start of the 2026–27 school year.

We can’t wait to welcome our new and returning Libertas Lions back to campus!

🌺 End-of-Year Celebration: Honoring Our Educators 🌺

Today, the Lower and Upper Academy came together to celebrate the close of the 2025-26 school year with food trucks, a luau theme, and well-deserved recognition for our incredible staff.

We honored all 2025-26 Educators of the Month, recognized team members through Core Value superlatives, and celebrated Ari Nunez, Director of Student Recruitment & Family Engagement, as this year’s recipient of the Jen Larkin Selfless Service Award for her outstanding dedication to Libertas and our students.

Thank you to every staff member for making this year one to remember. ❤️🩶

🎨 Color Wars Brings Joy, Teamwork, and School Spirit to Lower Academy! 🎨

This week, our Lower Academy students traded classrooms for friendly competition and school spirit. Grades 7 and 8 kicked things off on Tuesday, while Grade 6 took their turn on Thursday, competing in relay races, outdoor challenges, and team-building activities.

After months of hard work and a successful testing season, it was a joy to see our middle schoolers celebrating together, showing excellence, sportsmanship, and plenty of school pride. We are so proud of all they accomplished this year! ❤️

🎨 ¡Las Guerras de Colores Traen Alegría, Trabajo en Equipo y Espíritu Escolar a la Academia Inferior! 🎨

Esta semana, nuestros estudiantes de la Academia Inferior cambiaron las aulas por una competencia amistosa y mucho espíritu escolar. Los estudiantes de 7.º y 8.º grado comenzaron la celebración el martes, mientras que los de 6.º grado tuvieron su turno el jueves, participando en carreras de relevos, desafíos al aire libre y actividades de trabajo en equipo.

Después de meses de arduo trabajo y de una exitosa temporada de exámenes, fue una alegría ver a nuestros estudiantes de secundaria celebrando juntos, demostrando excelencia, deportividad y mucho orgullo escolar. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de todo lo que lograron este año! ❤️
