Been busy here with farm tours all summer (This is a good thing) And all the 'other stuff' that goes on with farming!

The new roof on the house is done after our June storm damage. That was a challenge getting 36000 sf of roof re-done! All roof was replaced and the insurance even covered our road sign getting done next week! Love our insurance company!

My sister is scheduled to come in mid Sept to spend a month, but that is on 'hold' pending Hurricane Irma and Sis is in Jacksonville FLORIDA. We're holding out for that visit!

We'll see how the next week goes! Never a dull moment here!

A cold 71 degrees today .... hitting upper 80's next week. Maybe my tomato seeds will pop up by then!!!

Rainy and cold in Springfield today. Good day to make a pot of chili!!!

We are officially on CRIA WATCH now! Thought we'd have a baby alpaca on the ground today, but this Mom has decided to wait a few more days! Good JOB MOM! More days inside is best with the temps getting down to frost level the next few mornings! Mom ALWAYS knows best!!! Stand By!!!

Garden update ..... lost 4 tomato seedlings so decided to plant seeds in those places .....hopefully I won't have all the tomatoes ready for harvest at the same time this way! Beans are looking good, and the Romaine Lettuce is just about ready to harvest. I cut all the asparagus yesterday (gave to the neighbor) only to find MORE I need to cut today! I have more than I can eat, and not enough to pickle. UGH!

My cucumber seedlings are gone now ..... as well as the watermelon seedlings, and I suspect it was all due to the chipmunk that we found in a water bucket (sadly he met his demise there). Certainly I need to train the 3 great pyrs to keep those little varmints away from the garden too!

Always and adventure in Kentucky!

Oh, by the way ..... thought we might have a cria on the ground today ...... Expectant Mom was acting a bit like she was in labor, but it must have been my anticipation in action. Not today, but surely soon! Will keep everyone posted.

I was told to plant my garden the day after the Ky Derby, which will be coming this Saturday! My seedlings in the sun room have been ready for days, but the weather hasn't cooperated so far. Mr. Weatherman promises better weather the next 3 days, so my little seedlings are going out on the 142nd Ky Derby on Saturday coming. Me happy! Oh, and we've been eating asparagus out of our garden for a month; radishes for a couple of weeks, and you should see our potato plants! Sorry to report that the puppies decided the box where the hot peppers were planted needed to be a re-arranged, so that garden box will have to be re-done ....including puppy-proofed! More to come!!!

The Straw Bales waiting for veggies are raising the most incredible inedible mushrooms and grass! My seedlings in the sun-room are anxious to get outside and into their new homes, but the rain keeps me inside! Maybe tomorrow I can do some REAL planting!!! Stand by!!!
