Advanced airway inservice/training last week and the week before, biannually, paramedics are required to train on emergency surgical cricothyrotomy, use of the transport ventilators, intubation methods, and performance of rapid sequence induction, in which powerful sedation and paralytic drugs may be needed to intubate a person who is critically ill or injured. Literally holding someone’s life in your hand, while moving down the road, trying to reach doctors and others to help save lives is serious business, but it can be taught in a positive and fun environment where people want to learn. Our team is made up of some of the best out there! The best care, every call… begins with solid training. 💪 Well done Will Sisco, our Training Division Chief, we appreciate you and the Field Training Officer / FTOs who assisted!

Part 2 - “Butterfly” BVM, by Compact Medical now being carried and used on all Robertson County EMS ambulances. In this inservice, our Training Officer traveled to a local farm beforehand to acquire sets of pig lungs to truly demonstrate how actual lungs work with proper tidal volume of air, and pressure settings needed to teach our team to perfect the “art” of artificial ventilation. The best care, every call… our families, friends, and neighbors deserve it.

Part 1 - New “Butterfly” BVM (bag valve mask), a new style resuscitation tool designed to address the need to control tidal volumes of specific patient sizes and deliver managed pressure support types. The best patient care possible, every call, begins with solid training. 💪

We were honored to attend the 2026 Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony today in Springfield, Robertson County, on the square. This was hosted by our Robertson County Sheriff's Office, with Sheriff Mike VanDyke and Robertson County Mayor Elect, Keith Hoover officiating (on behalf of Robertson County Mayor, Billy Vogle). This begins National Law Enforcement Week across America, and we appreciate our LEO colleagues and what they do to protect our community, and other public safety responders day after day.
Thank You to our Law Enforcement Officers!
