Illinois Dems are leading the nation on responsible AI.
Despite pressure from powerful tech lobbyists, Illinois Democrats passed the strongest AI accountability law in America. The new law requires the largest AI developers to publish safety plans, undergo independent third-party audits, and face real penalties if they fail to follow them.
Innovation matters. So does accountability. Democrats proved we can have both.

Today, we celebrate 250 years of progress toward fulfilling the promise of a free and fair nation for all, and recommit ourselves to the work of creating a more perfect union.
We do so with clear eyes: our democracy is being tested, too many families are being left behind, and the promise of America still has not been fully secured for every person who calls this country home.
But the work of America has always been unfinished. So we keep fighting, keep organizing, and keep building a country worthy of its highest ideals.

GOOD NEWS FOR ILLINOIS VOTERS
While Congressman Mike Bost continues his lawsuit attacking Illinois’ vote-by-mail law, the U.S. Supreme Court just upheld Mississippi’s ability to count ballots that are cast by Election Day but arrive a few days later because of mail delays.
Illinois has similar protections to ensure seniors, rural voters, military members, people with disabilities, and working families don’t lose their vote because of USPS delays and Illinois Dems are confident that those protections will stand. Every eligible voter who follows the rules deserves to have their ballot counted.
