Effective 12:01 am on July 7th, the South Cascade District will move to Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) 2. There are currently no changes to Public Use Restrictions planned. However we are looking at a return to 90+ degree weather starting Sunday/Monday and we will re-evaluate as conditions change. While it isn't triple digits, its high enough to expect some low RH conditions and potential for fire to spread.

The Oregon Department of Forestry extends its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the Idaho firefighters who were attacked this past weekend.

“Wildland firefighters already are putting themselves at risk everyday just by fighting a wildfire,” Michael Curran, ODF Fire Protection Division Chief said. “This line of work is a calling for those wanting to serve something bigger than themselves. We recognize the courage and sacrifice it takes to fight wildfire and have a duty to support our comrades in dark moments like these.”

The Oregon Department of Forestry stands with the State of Idaho, Kootenai County Fire & Rescue, Coeur d’Alene Fire Department and the City of Coeur d’Alene as they navigate this tragedy.
