On this beautiful Saturday morning The Springfield and Washington County fire departments have started our yearly hose testing. Today we tested over 3,000 feet of fire hose. Testing fire hose yearly helps insure we meet the ISO standards and makes sure the hoses can maintain the required pressures

Tonight we are training on burn injuries with Washington County EMS. Thanks to Air EVAC instructor Joey Spalding for teaching us about burn injuries. Great class

We are closely monitoring the severe weather threat set to impact our area today. Please have a shelter plan in place in case a severe event should occur. We have been provided a list of shelter locations available today by Washington County Emergency Management. As always, stay safe Washington County!

On July 25, the Kentucky Brotherhood Ride will be making a stop at the Springfield Fire Department between 12:00–12:30 p.m. as they honor the life and service of Wes England, our part-time paramedic who died in the line of duty last year.

We encourage everyone who is able to come out and line the route or gather at the fire department to help give these riders the welcome they deserve. Your presence is a meaningful way to show support for Wes, his family, and the first responder community.

For those unfamiliar with the Kentucky Brotherhood Ride, this incredible group of riders spends four days traveling nearly 400 miles across the Commonwealth, honoring first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Each mile they ride is a tribute to those who dedicated their lives to serving others.

Let’s come together as a community and show that Wes’s service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
