Last night the Springfield Fire Department and the Washington County Fire Department participated in the state drivers training cone course. Thanks to SFRT instructors Mike Mulholland and Scott Lawson for setting up the course and evaluating the drivers.

Your Springfield and Washington County Fire Departments spent 8 hours Saturday practicing confine space rescue drills at Willett Distillery. Also attending the training were Joe Carpenter of the rescue squad and Kevin Devine, EM.

We would like to thank Willett Distillery for allowing us to train in their facility.

Join us in sending a huge congratulations to Matthew Flowers on becoming our newest certified dispatcher! Matthew has just completed the intensive 4-week training academy at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond! He is excited to start his career in public safety telecommunications!

Matthew graduating the academy marks a historic landmark for Springfield/Washington County E-911. For the first time in department history, we will be operating with 2 dispatchers 24/7! This landmark is aimed at providing better quality service alongside the growth of Washington County. Last night the Springfield Fire and the Washington County Fire Departments had a class on drivers training. The class included going over the laws that govern emergency response.
Thanks to SFRT area 5 instructor Mike Mulholland for teaching the class.
