Happy New Year from TRACE!

Your trust means everything. This year, we worked hard to build a safe, transparent, and community‑driven approach to search support — and we’re just getting started.

In 2026, we’ll keep showing up with integrity, clear communication, and the kind of teamwork that puts families and safety first.

Thank you for being part of this mission.

🎄 Merry Christmas from the TRACE Team

From all of us at TRACE —
Paula, SARTECH III & K9 Handler (Freyja)
Nicholas, Drone Operator
Nik, Recon & Recovery Specialist

We’re grateful for the families, volunteers, and responders who show up when it matters most. Whether you’re celebrating quietly or navigating a tough season, we see you.

This holiday, we honor the dogs who serve beside us, the communities we support, and the mission that drives us:
To search with purpose, recover with dignity, and care for every life we encounter.

Stay safe. Stay grounded. Stay connected.

We’ve recently been made aware of some confusion regarding our partnerships. To clarify: TRACE is not affiliated with, nor do we work with a local tracker named Charlie Barnes.

As a new organization founded in September, we believe in transparency and want our community to have accurate information about who we collaborate with. Our mission is broader than supporting searches for dogs — TRACE is also committed to assisting in human search and rescue efforts during disasters.

Thank you for your continued trust and support as we grow!

🆘 Rescue One needs supplies now 🆘

Yesterday TRACE was able to drop off some much-needed items, but their shelves are still running low. Many of you have already stepped up by ordering through their Amazon link — that’s fantastic for keeping them stocked in the weeks ahead.

👉 But here’s the reality: dogs and cats in their care need food, cleaning supplies, and essentials today. If you’re local, please consider bringing donations directly to Rescue One so they can keep caring for animals without interruption.

Every bag of food, every roll of paper towels, every bottle of cleaner makes a difference right now.

📍 Drop-offs can be made at Rescue One’s facility.
📦 For those farther away, the Amazon list is still a great way to help with future needs.

Let’s rally together so Rescue One doesn’t have to choose between animals in need and empty shelves.

YIKES! Could everyone please share?

We are back up to over 450 animals in our care and are having a hard time keeping up with the basic supplies needed to care for them. Right now we are completely out of clumping cat litter, 36” and 42” wire crates, and durable bones for aggressive chewers, and we will be out of dry kitten food and chicken & rice dog food within the week.

If you’re already filling your cart today, please consider adding something for the animals. Supplies can be dropped off at 2000 S. Stewart or ordered directly from our Amazon wishlist for easy delivery. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2T57IRHY478GD?ref_=wl_share

Pictured is two of our newest additions in our emergency kennels who are waiting for a foster to open up. We are SO FULL. Thank you for any support you can provide.

🛰️🐾 Welcome to TRACE — Tracking, Recon, Aerial & Canine Exploration 🐾🛰️

We’re so glad you found us.

TRACE is a nonprofit born from boots-on-the-ground experience, wagging tails, and the belief that community-powered search and recovery can be smarter, kinder, and more effective. Whether it’s a missing pet, a wilderness recon, or aerial support for SAR teams, we’re here to connect the dots — with compassion, precision, and a little bit of dog hair.

This page is where we’ll share updates, field stories, gear tips, advocacy wins, and the occasional canine chaos. If you believe in ethical service dog practices, trauma-informed outreach, and the power of collaboration, you’re in the right place.

📍 Based in Springfield, MO — but our mission reaches far beyond.

Thanks for being part of our journey. Let’s track forward, together.
