Art Project for Home Schooling!
Parents, don't forget art education during this home school time. My advice is to stay away from formula art! Look for creative projects. Let me help you. Here is a fun project for you to do. It's called gel dish soap resist painting. The guy in the video tells you that you need a canvas. You can use a piece of scrap wood if you don't have one. He also says black spray paint. If you have some other color of spray paint around the house, its fine. Just make sure you use contrasting colors in the background. He refers to the color wheel so I'm attaching a photo of one for you. He also talks about Jackson Po***ck so Im going to share a link for a short video about his work. When you finish, your kids will have had fun, made some cool art, learned about color theory, and art history without even realizing they were studying. Have fun. I'll post another soon.
What you need: Acrylic Paint (you can buy the cheap apple barrel at Walmart. Its pretty good) a canvas or piece of wood, spray paint (make sure to supervise the young ones), gel dish soap, a water hose
color wheel - is an illustrative organization of color hues around a circle, which shows the relationships between primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors etc.
analogous - are groups of three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel, and a tertiary. Red, orange, and red-orange are examples
resist - Any material, usually wax or grease crayons, that repel paint or dyes.(in this case, gel dish soap)
