On this Memorial Day, Springville Volunteer Fire Department recognizes the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. We take a moment of silence to contemplate the joys of life that these men and women never had the opportunity to experience and for the freedom itself, they wanted so much, for us all.

We remember.

A message from Springville Fire Chief, Marc Gentner… I want to personally thank all the mutual aid departments, for all the hard work yesterday and fast actions taken by all the FIRE. EMS AND POLICE at the Fire on main st. A great job by done by ALL. Although any property loss can be devastating, working together seamlessly as we did last night, stopped what could have evolved into something far more catastrophic.
Many thanks to our mutual aid partners: East Concord/Mortons Corners & Mercy EMS, Seneca Fire, West Valley and Yorkshire, Boston, Chaffee-Sardinia, Holland, Langford, Collins, Collins Center, Colden, West Falls, South Wales, Arcade, Delevan, Erie County EMS and all involved. Thank you to our Auxiliary / Squad 10. Thank you to the community for working with us on our traffic direction needs and giving us the space we needed to manage this incident.

Be Safe.

Thank you everyone who stopped out on this beautiful day, for our Chicken BBQ fundraiser. It was great so see so many friendly and familiar faces, and hear stories of how we’ve been there for so many of our community families. The feeling of thankfulness is truly mutual.

We are already looking forward to the car show event at the grounds in July.

SVFD mourns the loss of a friend to all, Kevin Gasper. A good hearted, community minded soul who made himself an integral part of our Fireman’s Auxiliary and Squad 10. The outpouring of community sentiment and stories about Kevin, is a beautiful tribute to a life well lived, in kindness, grace and gratitude. Kevin will be missed, but always remembered for his smile, dedication to community and the happiness he brought to all.

Our awesome Auxiliary is at it again, and until noon today, serving up sausage, eggs and bottomless pancakes with a smile. Technically, the pancakes do have bottoms and we can attest that they are the fluffiest bottoms in all of Springville this morning. Plus there is a basket raffle! So come on out, plenty of time left to start your Sunday morning off with friends and good grub!

Be safe.
