The Varsity Boys’ Tennis team turned in a historical season in the Spring of 2026. The team accumulated a 15-1 overall record, 12-0 league record, and a division championship. Some historical records were accomplished by individuals on the team, including:

Bryce Cook: 15-1 singles record, 1st team All-League, and a 6th place finish at ECIC’s.

Garrison Heichberger: First-year singles player, 12-4 singles record, and a 10-2 record in league.

Liam Bobseine/Matt Baumgartner: 14-2 doubles record, 11-1 league record, and 1st Team All-league.

Forrest Prouty/Avery Noeson: 13-3 doubles record and 12-1 league record.

Frank Keeton/Will Prinino/Kaiden Bialasik: 16-0 Overall record (12-0 Keeton/Prinino, 4-0 Keeton/Bialasik)

This season will forever be remembered for the team’s success, but most importantly, the leadership and maturity of SGI’s five seniors. Bryce Cook, Garrison Heichberger, Matt Baumgartner, Liam Bobseine, and Forrest Prouty set the example from day one, and the team never looked back. Congratulations to all members of the boys' tennis team on a great season!

Please join us in congratulating senior Matthew Baumgartner for being the first student in SGI history to qualify for the state championship golf tournament! Recently, Matthew competed at the Section VI Championships, shooting a 76 to finish second among 78 golfers and earn his spot at the state tournament. The championship will take place June 7–8 at Mill Creek Golf Course in Churchville, NY.

Matthew first learned to play golf four years ago with the help of a neighbor who generously taught him the game and gave him a set of youth clubs. It is a reminder of the lasting impact that encouragement and mentorship from adults can have on a young person’s life.

Please join us in cheering Matthew on at States!
