Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will cross the region
Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday night. There is a slight risk
that some of these storms may become severe. The primary risk will be
localized damaging wind gusts, with a secondary lower risk of
isolated large hail. An isolated tornado also cannot be ruled out.

The Springwater Fire Department has recently received a complaint regarding the burning of household garbage.

Residents are reminded that burning garbage, trash, plastics, tires, treated or painted wood, and other solid waste is prohibited year-round in New York State—even when burned in a barrel or fire pit.

Anyone found burning prohibited materials may be reported to the appropriate authorities and could face civil or criminal enforcement, including fines beginning at $500 for a first offense.

Illegal burning creates hazardous smoke, endangers neighboring properties, and increases the risk of an uncontrolled fire. Please dispose of all household garbage through approved collection or disposal services.

This Wednesday from 2:30 - 5:30 PM.

Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston Foster Care Team is sponsoring a Car Seat Check in Springwater on August 5th. Join us to ensure your child's seat is installed correctly and securely. The car seat check will be held at the Spring Water Fire Department staring at 2:30pm.

Our Therapeutic Foster Care program provides coordination to ensure that children in foster care receive planned services in support of their overall well-being and their ability to return home. In addition, we recruit, train and support foster parents. If you're interested in becoming a foster parent, reach out to 607-769-9359.
