Just a reminder- The first weekend of the annual BSA Scouting for Food event is tomorrow !
We will meet Saturday
November 15th
8:30 a.m. at
Discovery Elementary -Cafeteria
500 Discovery Path Lane
St. Charles, MO. 63301.
Our group has been assigned an area from Hwy 370 To West Alton MO. While we are working on collection options for the more rural areas, we will be placing bags in New Town, Charlestown and Surrounding Areas.
In 2024, we collected 7200+ items in this area and filled a box truck for our assigned pantry.
This first weekend, scouts/volunteers will be parted in groups, given maps and bags to tie onto doors of houses in our designated area.
Feel free to bring siblings, family members or friends. The more helping hands, the merrier and the quicker the bags will be distributed!
LUNCH will be provided after bag distribution !
The following weekend,
Sat, Nov 22nd we will meet at
9:30 a.m
Discovery Elementary-Cafeteria.
Scouts / volunteers will return to those same designated areas to retrieve any donated items, bring them back to Discovery Elementary to be counted and prepared for our partnered food pantry Oasis.
Lunch will also be provided!
Be sure to dress for the weather, layers are suggested and Scouts please wear your uniform if you have one.
In our area, it is estimated that 1 out of 10 people will go without food tomorrow. That's an estimated 420,000 people that will go without food on a regular basis..
Of that number, it is estimated that 140,000 are children that will go to bed hungry.
If you would like to help us with this very important community event, please send us a quick reply or message.
Please pass this along to college scouts, former scouts/scouters and/ or others that may be interested in helping.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact / message us.
Thank you!
