Today, members of the St. Charles Police Department were recognized at the Optimist Club Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon for their outstanding work on a multi-jurisdictional narcotics trafficking and money laundering investigation. This case required 500+ man-hours and coordination with multiple other agencies including HSI, RIIC, Maryland Heights PD, Woodson Terrace PD, St. Charles County Drug Task Force, and the Madison County (IL) Sheriff's Office.

What a weekend! The Missouri River Irish Fest celebrated its 20th anniversary this Memorial Day Weekend, and it was a grand time! For 20 years, this beloved festival has brought the best of Irish culture right to the banks of the Missouri River, and this year was no exception!

In a special highlight, 6 Gardaí (police officers) from St. Charles City's sister city of Inishowen, Ireland were also able to attend the festivities! It was an incredible honor to welcome our Irish law enforcement brothers and sisters to the celebration and strengthen the bond between our two communities.

Whether Irish by blood or Irish by heart, our community came together to celebrate on the beautiful St. Charles riverfront!

What's better than an early morning 5-mile run down Interstate 70? Honestly? Almost anything. Coffee. Sleep. A root canal.

BUT — when it's for Special Olympics Missouri, you lace up and you get it done! 💪 Today, police officers from across the region proudly hit the pavement for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Missouri and SCPD was right out there with them!

A huge THANK YOU to Ameristar Casino Resort Spa St. Charles for hosting this morning’s ceremony, and to all the commuters who sat patiently in traffic wondering why a bunch of people in running shorts were jogging down the highway. We promise we weren't chasing anyone. This time.

And a massive shout-out to the Eastern Missouri Police Academy recruits who ran alongside our SCPD personnel this morning. Way to put in the work! We saw some of you questioning your career choices around mile 3 — don't worry, that's normal.

It's all for an incredible cause, and we're proud to support our Special Olympics athletes!

Chocolate covered pretzels? Yes, please!

A huge thank you to Faith "Mom" Hensley, owner of Mom's Originals Inc, a gourmet pretzel and treat company, for dropping off a large box of various chocolate covered pretzel sticks after seeing our officers at Cop on Top this morning.

Our officers had a blast this morning at the JL Mudd Elementary School "Touch a Truck" event! The smiles on the students' faces as they explored the vehicles and met our officers made it all worthwhile.

And yes... we do need to talk about Officer Burnett, who was spotted in a fire truck. 🚒 We're not sure if he's considering a career change or just got confused about which vehicle was ours, but we're keeping an eye on the situation. Come back to the blue side, Burnett!

Thank you to Mayor Dan Borgmeyer and the City of St. Charles leadership for their continued commitment to our officers and our community! We're grateful for leaders who recognize that taking care of our officers means taking better care of our community.
