South Lake participated in the Interfaith Center for Racial Justice in the 2nd Annual Unity Walk in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. To top it off, South Lake High School teacher, Tara Lingeman, was honored with the Mel Miller Rise Beyond the Horizon Memorial Award for her work promoting equity and diversity with youth. Congratulations Ms. Lingeman! You are truly a great Cavalier!!

Congratulations to Mrs. DePascale’s 4th grade class for donating the most food items for the needy and demonstrating empathy. Each student in her class was rewarded with giving our wonderful principal, Mrs. Bowersox, or the principal for a day, Amiracle, a tasty pie to the face!

Drop-off & Pick-up at South Lake High School – There have been improvements to student drop off and pick up at the high school. Traffic needs to keep flowing out of the exit lanes onto 9 Mile Rd. Only vehicles that are actively dropping students off before school, or are actively picking up students after school, should be in the exit lanes. The goal is to keep traffic flowing. Those failing to follow these guidelines may be subject to potential traffic citations from the St. Clair Shores Police Department as sitting and idling in the traffic lanes causes safety issues for our students. If you have any questions, please contact Detective Munger or Mr. Rousselo.

So an incident took place earlier this week at SLH in the algebra class and no one sent out an email regarding that situation BUT we received a email after the students reacted from the incident⁉️ 🤔🤔
I see why the teachers communicate in such racist behavior because the administrators continue to sweep situations under the rug🤬
We as parents need to know what's going at all times NOT just the times when it's suitable for the administration🤦🏾‍♀️
