Started the day with the East St. John Wildcats! A little encouragement, a few laughs and some real talk about blocking the noise, leaving yesterday where it belongs and knowing you belong in every room you walk into.

Every day is another chance to decide where you’re going. So East St. John… let’s SET THIS YEAR OFF 🖤 💛

A special moment indeed ❤️

Unveiling the 2026 Andouille Festival Official Poster 💜💚

Last night, we proudly revealed the official poster for the 51st Annual Andouille Festival, and this year's celebration was especially meaningful.

For the past three years, our beloved friend and artist Dana Bardell Wallace brought the spirit of the Andouille Festival to life through her artwork. With Dana’s family joining us last night, we had the opportunity to celebrate her incredible legacy and present them with a special canvas featuring her Andouille Festival artwork through the years.
And Dana will always remain part of this tradition.

Look closely at this year's poster and you'll find a special tribute tucked into the artwork: DBW, beneath the signature cancer ribbon, quietly honoring the artist and friend who left such a beautiful mark on our festival and our community. 💜

This year's official poster, sponsored by The Magnolia Group, was created by acclaimed New Orleans artist Becky Fos, known for her vibrant colors, bold textures and unmistakable celebration of Louisiana.
Becky's distinctive style beautifully captures so much of what makes St. John home: the pelican, our waterways, the cypress trees and, of course, an andouille smokehouse representing the tradition that makes us the Andouille Capital of the World.

We are especially grateful to The Magnolia Group, whose generous sponsorship made this year's official poster possible and helped us continue a beloved Andouille Festival tradition.

🐾 Please join us as we celebrate the Grand Reopening of the St. John the Baptist Parish Animal Shelter!

We’re excited to welcome the community on Thursday, July 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. as we celebrate a milestone project that will allow us to provide better care for our animals and a more functional space for the hardworking staff and volunteers.

The improvements include a 1,270-square-foot expansion connecting our two existing facilities, new veterinary spaces, and enhancements designed to improve the care, comfort, and capacity of our shelter.

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone for our parish. We can’t wait to welcome you through the doors! ❤️🐾

Some people leave their mark by what they do. Others leave it through who they are. Dana did both.

It’s funny to think our friendship began at Jazzy Rags. Looking back, I could’ve never imagined how much she would come to mean to me and so many others.

She was more than a friend. She was an artist, advocate, mentor, and just a rare person whose kindness matched her talent. Unmatched.

She encouraged me throughout my life journey as she did so many others. And, she did this while carrying the burden of the unthinkable loss of her beloved sons.

Last year, I had the privilege of presenting her a key to the Parish. I told her then she didn’t just have the key to our Parish - she had the key to our hearts. I don’t think I’ve spoken truer words.

Thank you, Dana Bardell, for your friendship, generosity, beautiful spirit, the LAUGHS, and the legacy you’ve left behind.

We will honor you everyday by loving, laughing, and blowing whistles.

My heart and prayers are with her family. We are grieving with you.

I simply loved you, Dana, or in your words…I love it ❤️
