Keyway: Center for Diversion & Reentry

Keyway: Center for Diversion & Reentry Empowering Women, Strengthening Families, and Transforming Communities since 1997.

The Center for Women in Transition was founded in 1997 when a group of women volunteering in a local jail began to notice that the same women were repeatedly returning to incarceration. The women and volunteers sat down together and discussed what was causing this revolving door. Together, the group determined that lack of safe housing, access to treatment for addiction, financial stability, and s

trong support systems were leading to recidivism. Thus, Center for Women in Transition was born - an attempt to interrupt this cycle by providing justice involved women access to basic resources and community support.

JUST ANNOUNCED!

Keyway is thrilled to be named one of the 2026 Wine and Food Holiday Festival's giveback beneficiaries, alongside Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition.

This morning, Keyway Executive Director April Foster joined Fox2Now's Blair Ledet TV and Support Local Charities' Curtis Triggs to share the exciting news and talk about how this year’s festival will support women working toward stability and independence 💜

This year’s goal: Raise $5,000 for Keyway’s Adopt-an-Apartment program! Every dollar raised through festival ticket sales and donations will help provide essential household items that make transitional housing feel like home.

We’re so excited to be part of this St. Louis tradition and can’t wait to celebrate for a great cause Oct. 10 at the Cortex Commons from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.!

A little laughter, a little Broadway magic, and a whole lot of fun! 🎭✨ This week, several Keyway participants enjoyed a wonderful evening under the stars in Forest Park, catching a performance of "Something Rotten!" at The Muny!

Experiences like these create opportunities for connection, joy, and unforgettable memories together with fellow participants 💜

✨ Volunteer Opportunity! ✨

We're looking for a volunteer to help keep the Keyway Boutique organized and welcoming!

We're seeking someone who can stop by once a week (or once every other week) for about 1 hour to tidy up clothing racks, organize donations, and help keep the space looking its best for the women we serve.

If you enjoy organizing and want to make a meaningful impact in just a short amount of time, we'd love to hear from you!

📧 Interested? Send us a message or email Jodi Jinks, Keyway Community Learning & Engagement Specialist, at [email protected] to learn more.
