Update - News Release: Officer Involved Shooting Investigation in the 11000 block of Bellefontaine Road
St. Louis County, Mo. (July 6, 2026): In reference to the peace disturbance and officer-involved shooting call in the North County Precinct on Sunday, July 5, 2026, all juveniles taken into custody were released, and no charges have been issued at this time. Two juveniles injured by gunfire are currently listed in stable condition. A third juvenile suffered an abrasion and was treated and released.
Additional information regarding the large gathering in the 11000 block of Prendergast Lane:
The original address given was 1700 block of Prendergast Lane; however, the investigation confirms the gathering was hosted at a home in the 11000 block of Prendergast Lane and involved between 150 and 200 teenagers.
Furthermore, between 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Communications received more than twenty-five 9-1-1 calls for the peace disturbance and subsequent officer-involved shooting during that time frame.
Neighbors in the area reported loud disturbances, fights, and fireworks on the property or nearby. When officers responded to clear the area, many of the subjects ran through backyards and across private property, prompting more calls to 911. Other callers reported witnessing individuals with weapons. The crowds later moved to the intersection of Bellefontaine Road and Larimore Road, where the officer-involved shooting occurred.

St. Louis County, Mo. (July 6, 2026): St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the 11000 block of Bellefontaine Road that resulted in gunshot injuries to two juveniles.
On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers from the North County Precinct responded to a call for service for a disturbance at a residence in the 1700 block of Prendergast Lane for a large house party.
Officers responded to the area after receiving reports of a large gathering involving more than 100 juveniles attending a pool party, where they were setting off fireworks and causing a disturbance. As officers worked to disperse the crowd, many of the juveniles left the area on foot. An officer in need of aid call was dispatched as callers reported large numbers of juveniles running around the neighborhood and through private property.
Officers also responded to the intersection of Bellefontaine Road and Larimore Road, where large crowds of teens gathered and were discharging and throwing fireworks near police vehicles. While officers worked to clear the area, a St. Louis County Police Department officer perceived a threat from a vehicle and fired his service weapon at the vehicle.
A male and a female victim in the vehicle were struck by gunfire. A third female vehicle suffered a minor injury caused by broken glass. All three were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A total of 9 juveniles were taken into custody at the Bellefontaine Road and Larimore Road officer-involved shooting scene.
No officers were physically injured during the incident.
The officer involved is 33 years old with 6 years of law enforcement experience.
