It takes a village to support youth in their path to independence.

Throughout May, we have been celebrating National Foster Care Month with our partners at Youth In Need and Epworth.

This week, we’re focusing on the critical support youth need as they transition out of foster care and into adulthood. From housing and education to employment and life skills, continued community support helps young people build confidence, stability and brighter futures.

“When foster youth get older, they can be at risk for becoming homeless as they age out of the system. That’s where targeted programs to help with housing, landlord engagement and ongoing direct support become critical. The goal is to help these youth not fall through the cracks but instead become thriving adults.” - Pat Holterman-Hommes, President and CEO

Together, our three organizations help nearly 400 youth every year as they start to age out of the foster care system and as they continue to chart their own path toward independence. We are honored to come together to provide support, lift families up and ensure every child has someone advocating for their best interests.

It takes a village to help foster families succeed.

As we continue recognizing National Foster Care Month, we’re proud to partner with Epworth and Youth In Need through community partnerships to support children and families throughout the foster care journey.

This week, we’re highlighting the importance of navigating foster care with compassion, stability, and connection. Foster families play a critical role in providing safe, supportive environments for children during times of transition — and they deserve a strong network of support, too.

“Foster care is so important to the fabric of our communities because, in many cases, it is what keeps children safe, supported, and connected when their families are facing challenges. We take pride in making it our life work to support foster children and families, it is the responsibility of everyone in our communities to hold these children in safety and love. When communities come together, children and families have greater opportunities to heal, grow, and thrive. Together, our three organizations provide 23 programs that support youth and families navigating the foster care journey.
