Gratifying to see another partnership from our Afghan Services program get funded. And put together by our very talented colleague Saria Bechara at The Forced Migration Initiative at WashU Brown School, no less. We don't have enough good things to say about Saria's initiative, which checks all the boxes for meaningful community-university partnership work and will be a fantastic opportunity for young Afghan women in St. Louis. Congratulations, Saria!!

Saria Bechara, a social work doctoral student at the WashU Brown School, has received grant funding to launch a community-based volleyball and leadership program for Afghan refugee girls and young women in the St. Louis region.
