Monarch Fire Protection District MFPD covers approximately 62.7 square miles and 80,000 residents in West St. Louis County Louis County.

The monarch Fire Protection District has 5 engine houses, 1 HQ facility, a training tower and a maintenance facility in West St. It employs 125 firefighters/paramedics, fire inspection personnel, and support staff.

The 2026 Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo brought 40,000 of our neighbors to the skies above St. Louis — and behind the scenes, an extraordinary team of partners was working together to make sure every single one of them went home safe.

For EMS, Monarch FPD was honored to lead EMS operations for the region's largest airshow. Here's what that looked like on the ground:

✅ 4 Monarch mobile EMS transport carts covering the grounds
✅ WashU Medicine docs on site running a 10-bed medical treatment tent
✅ St. Luke's is operating a first aid tent for the community
✅ Central County 911 Dispatch on site with a pre-built location grid and What3Words for precise patient location
✅ 75+ patient encounters tracked seamlessly through Pulsara — a statewide MCI platform also being used across the country, including the upcoming FIFA events.

Pulsara was a game-changer. Every patient encounter was documented from first contact to final disposition, giving every team real-time visibility. It also gave our crews invaluable training on MCI software that could one day make the difference in a major emergency.

We are so proud to serve this community. And we are grateful for partners who share that same commitment.

Monarch Fire Protection District plays a critical role in supporting the Air Show in Chesterfield. Our Command Staff and the men and women do an outstanding job preparing behind the scenes, dedicating countless hours and giving their very best to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.

This year's sold-out show was truly incredible, and its success is a direct reflection of the hard work, commitment, and teamwork of those who step up and make it happen. Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication and for helping create such an amazing experience for our community!
