🗳️ TODAY IS ELECTION DAY!

Your vote matters. Your voice matters. Your future matters.

Too often, people focus only on presidential elections, but primary elections are just as important. Primary elections help decide who will appear on the ballot and who will make decisions that directly impact our schools, neighborhoods, healthcare, public safety, and communities.

Today, don't just vote. Bring someone with you.
✅ Pick up a friend.
✅ Check on an elderly neighbor who may need a ride.
✅ Encourage a young voter to cast their ballot.
✅ Help others make their voices heard.

Every vote counts, and every voter matters. When we show up together, we create change together.

We did what we set out to do during the John Lewis weekend event; we helped get young people registered to vote as soon as they became eligible at age 17½. But registration is only the first step. Now it's time to turn those registrations into votes by showing up for early voting.

We are especially proud that our youngest newly registered voter took the initiative to encourage her friends to register as well. That's how change happens, one person inspiring others to get involved.

We are bringing the good trouble by empowering the next generation to make their voices heard. Let's keep the momentum going and make sure every registered voter gets to the polls during early voting. Our voices matter, and our votes matter even more.

Today, we honor the enduring legacy of John Lewis—a leader whose courage, conviction, and commitment to justice helped transform America. As highlighted by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. – Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter, John Lewis Day is more than a commemoration; it is a call to reflection, remembrance, and action.

John Lewis dedicated his life to advancing civil rights, equality, and human dignity. His powerful words continue to inspire generations:
"Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America."

As we reflect on his legacy, we are reminded that the work of building a more just and equitable society continues. Lewis showed us that meaningful change requires courage, perseverance, and a willingness to stand up for what is right—even when it is difficult.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. – Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter encourages all eligible voters to participate in the Missouri Primary Election on August 4, 2026.

📅 Key Dates: ✅ July 8 – Last day to register to vote

✅ July 21 – Early voting begins
✅ July 22 – Last day to request an absentee ballot
✅ August 4 – Primary Election Day

Every vote helps shape decisions that impact our communities, including healthcare, education, economic opportunity, housing, and public safety.

African Americans have been integral to the building, defending, advancing, and transforming this nation since its founding. From the Revolutionary War to the Civil Rights Movement, from innovation and entrepreneurship to arts, education, science, public service, and leadership, Black Americans have helped move the promise of America closer to its ideals of freedom, justice, and opportunity for all.

This Independence Day, we honor the courage, resilience, and achievements of those whose contributions have strengthened our democracy and enriched our communities across generations.
