Louis County Juvenile Justice Association are:
* To improve and sustain good working relationships between public and private agencies in the St. Louis area that deal with juvenile offenders and juvenile victims of abuse or neglect.
* To promote training and information on the handling of juvenile offenders and juvenile victims of neglect and abuse.
* To professionalize and standardize the han
dling of youth we serve.
* To promote the exchange of ideas and improve the performance of all members in the association.
* To cooperate with any agency in the St. Louis County and surrounding areas that deal with juveniles and their welfare. Louis County Juvenile Justice Association is a membership organization. Membership fees are $10 per year and renewal dues are payable on April 1 or thereafter. Active membership will be open to Family Court personnel, law enforcement officers, school officials in the elementary, middle, and senior high levels, governmental employees who deal with juveniles offenders and juvenile victims of abuse and neglect, and others actively working with juveniles within nonprofit agencies. Louis County Juvenile Justice Association currently meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the St. Louis County & Municipal Police Academy, 1266 Sutter Avenue, St. There is a program presented at each meeting designed to keep members abreast of current community programs, resources, etc., that are pertinent to professionals involved in the juvenile justice system or related fields. Behind the scenes there is a group of individuals who have taken responsibility for the smooth running of the organizations. Those people are; Michael S.- Sgt of Arms, Shelly G.- Secretary, Angela E.- Treasurer, Liz K.- Vice President, Sgt Jim M.- President. In addition to the current officers, the Board is made up of the previous five presidents; Detective Kelly M. (2010-2011), William C. Jr. (2009-2010), Donna B. (2007-2009), Vershawn H. (2006-2007), and Elise D. (2005-2006).
