Founded in 2014, DFOB's mission is to provide professionally trained service dogs at no cost to wounded veterans who have honorably served our country. Our veterans volunteered to serve and protect our freedom, we now serve to help them regain theirs through a holistic approach focused on mind, body, spirit and relationship building. We utilize rescue dogs at every opportunity with no financial bu

Do you know the difference between a service dog, therapy dog and emotional support animal? 🦮

We have a very easy reference to refer back to! Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks or skills for a person with a disability. A therapy dog is trained to provide comfort, kindness and companionship to other people as a part of a volunteer or professional program. An emotional support animal is an animal that is not trained for anything specific but provides comfort and support through it's presence.

Service dogs are the only dogs that are given public access rights. There is no certification, registration or any online form to provide proof that a dog is a service dog.

Per the ADA, the only 2 questions businesses are allowed to ask are:
1. Is this dog a service dog for a disability?
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?

What an incredible day on the golf course! ⛳🐾

Earlier this month, Tully's Taproom hosted its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament, bringing together an amazing group of people for a great day supporting our veteran heroes.

We are incredibly grateful to owner Jane Stamper, the entire Tully’s crew, and their wonderful customers and supporters for continuing to rally behind Dogs For Our Brave. Thanks to their generosity, this year’s tournament resulted in an incredible $14,172 donation to DFOB!

That support will make a tremendous difference on both ends of the leash, helping us provide professionally trained service dogs at no cost to veterans who need them while giving deserving dogs a life of purpose and love.

Logan joined Team DFOB last year as a Primary Trainer and has brought her talent, humor, and passion for the mission to every shift since. Her dedication makes a difference for our dogs, our Veterans, and our entire team—and we’re so grateful to have her as part of our growing mission! 💙

This we are in need of a new battery for our Swift Paws machine! 🐰

Swift Paws is an at-home lure coursing system that helps give our dogs the breed outlets that they need. It is also used as a training tool to work on impulse control with our dogs in training!

It uses a very specific battery that is made for this machine that we currently do not have access to. It would be a huge benefit to our dogs welfare and soul if they could play with their giant cat toy again! 😆
